Basset Hound - Lula Belle - Medium - Young - Female - Dog
Lula's family got her from a friend when she was a puppy. They "tried to let her live inside" but it "didn't work out." They didn't have a fenced in yard, so she lived the first year and a half of her life tethered to a tree. After having their fourth child, they decided they could no longer care for her, and she was surrendered. She went straight into foster care, where she is having a BLAST. She absolutely adores her foster brothers and sisters. She loves being inside, lounging on her doggie bed, and on the sofa!! She is still a bit insecure, and follows her foster mommy everywhere she goes. She is incredibly affectionate and sweet, quick to roll on her back to get a tummy rub, potty trained, and has displayed no bad habits. She does have fun playing chase with the other dogs, and playing with her toys. She can be very calm, but she is still quite energetic. Miss Lula will do well with a family who can give her the attention she craves and deserves. She is terribly social, and will do well with other doggies. She lived around small children, and is great with them. She does chase her "foster kitty brother" but only in a playful way. She will need to have a fenced in yard, as she requires a yard where she can safely exercise. She is what we call a "door dasher." She waits for the door to open, and if given a chance, she will bolt out of it. Her new family will have to be diligent in keeping her from escaping.
